Labshock Releases the Engineering Workstation: Write and Deploy PLC Logic Against a Live Process

A Kali-based workstation with OpenPLC Editor and SCADA templates built in, moving the platform from observing industrial processes to engineering them.

The Labshock Engineering Workstation, running OpenPLC Editor against a simulated industrial process

January 23, 2025Labshock has added an Engineering Workstation to the Oilsprings environment, marking the shift from observing industrial processes to actively engineering them.

The workstation allows PLC logic to be created, modified and deployed directly inside a simulated industrial control system. It is built on a Kali Linux base and integrates OpenPLC Editor together with SCADA templates, which removes the dependency on external tooling and keeps control engineering inside the platform.

Users can now run a full PLC workflow end to end: design the logic, deploy it, and analyse how it behaves at runtime against a live process.

This is the first bridge on the platform between industrial engineering and security analysis. Reading control logic and writing it are different skills, and a person who can write clean logic recognises tampered logic faster than one who has only read about it.

The Engineering Workstation arrived in v1.1, and the ability to write logic rather than only read it runs through every PLC zone built since.
