ICS Arabia Teaches Its Beginner OT Security Course on Labshock
Five modules from OT fundamentals through offensive technique to mitigation, with the practical work done inside Labshock rather than described.

August 30, 2025 — Dr Sulaiman Alhasawi has run his Hands-On OT Security Course for Beginners on Labshock, using the platform as the lab environment for the practical portion of the course.
The syllabus ran in five parts: OT fundamentals, hands-on work with OT protocols, threat intelligence, offensive techniques, and protection and mitigation. Participants worked through the labs directly rather than watching them demonstrated.
That ordering is worth noting. Offensive technique arrives fourth, after the protocol work and the threat intelligence rather than before them — the attack is taught as something that follows from understanding the process, which is the sequence the platform is built around.
Alhasawi is the founder of ZeronTek and the host of the ICS Arabia podcast, and holds a doctorate in ICS cybersecurity. ICS Arabia is listed as a partner in the Labshock ecosystem, and Alhasawi has previously described the platform as something he uses both as an instructor and as a researcher.
The course was aimed at engineers, IT professionals and others taking a first step into OT security.
