Three Industries, Real Sensors, One Mini PC, Bound for Houston
Water, oil and railway environments wired to physical buttons and lights, with detection and SIEM on top, all running from a single small machine in the OT/ICS Training Village.
March 28, 2026 — Labshock is bringing a fully loaded environment to OT.SEC.CON 2026, held on 1 and 2 April at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, and it is going with partners rather than alone.
The environment runs three industries side by side — water, oil and railway — connected to physical sensors, buttons and lights, with a lightweight OT detection tool and a SIEM layered over them. The whole of it runs inside a small mini PC, which is the part worth pausing on: a plant that fits on a desk, with real hardware on the end of it, is a different proposition from a rack that has to be shipped.
Four companies built the workflow together. Kasm Technologies supplies secure access and workspace for OT and IoT operations, SteelDome makes the workloads run on whatever hardware is available, iolite Secure provides lightweight edge threat detection, and Labshock provides the industrial environments, protocols and scenarios. Live response is demonstrated on an ELK stack.
Visitors can expect physical systems attached to a Labshock environment, labs running on effectively any device, secure remote access into them, and live OT threat detection over the top. Credit for those pieces goes to Kevin Kumpf, Jeffrey Slapp, Ray Dusseault and Briana D. Sullivan respectively.
