Labshock Used for OT Cybersecurity CTF at BSides ICS/OT Paris 2026

Eastwater and Electroshock brought simulated water treatment and electrical substation environments to hands-on OT cybersecurity challenges in Paris.

Paris, France — October 22, 2026 — Labshock was used for hands-on OT cybersecurity challenges during BSides ICS/OT Paris 2026.

Following its demonstration at BSides last year, Labshock returned this year as part of the event’s OT CTF activities.

The challenges used two simulated industrial environments from World of Labshock: Eastwater and Electroshock.

Eastwater — Water Treatment Facility provided a simulated water treatment environment where participants could explore industrial networks, identify control systems and understand the relationship between PLCs, HMIs and the physical process.

Electroshock — 6 kV Electrical Substation provided a simulated electrical substation environment involving industrial control systems, network communication and process-related challenges.

Both environments provided opportunities to work with PLCs, SCADA, industrial protocols and simulated industrial processes.

The challenges focused on more than finding flags. Participants explored OT networks, identified industrial assets, worked with system configurations and observed how actions could affect simulated processes.

This approach connects cybersecurity activities with the behavior of industrial control systems.

The event marked another step in Labshock’s involvement with hands-on OT cybersecurity activities. From demonstrating the platform at BSides last year to supporting CTF challenges in Paris this year, Labshock continues to provide environments for learning and testing industrial cybersecurity.

Thanks to the BSides ICS/OT Paris organizers, especially Adama Drame and Alpha Bocoum, and everyone who participated.

The OT security community grows when people share knowledge, test systems and learn from each other. Labshock is glad to be part of this work.
